Andrea has been with the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Western District of Virginia since 2006 when the office opened. Before that, she worked in the Charlottesville-Albemarle Public Defender’s Office for seven years. Andrea went to the University of Notre Dame and then received her law degree from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.

Andrea is the Federal Defender Team Member for the Harrisonburg Division Recovery Court. In addition to her work as an Assistant Federal Public Defender, Andrea is an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, where she co-teaches the Federal Criminal Sentencing Advocacy Clinic. Prior to starting the Sentencing Clinic, she taught the Federal Sentence Reduction Clinic.
